Em's Foodie Review #1: Happy Tummy Cafe

Are you craving for a delicious-looking over-the-top shake your friends keeps posting on social media? Then why not try out Happy Tummy, a new cafe in town that is affordable yet can satisfy your sweet tooth.

I visited their shop the other day and now I want to share with you my review. Read on and see for yourself if it is worth a try.

Location: 😊😊😊
One of the best location a local businessman in Santa Rosa Laguna can put up his business is on Balibago Complex. This is where the buses and jeepneys from other town and cities make their pit stop. A lot of company shuttles and employees inside and outside Laguna Technopark come to Balibago Complex to unwind. This is also where Rosenians go to shop, hangout and attend Mass in the St. Peter Parish Church. So it is no-brainer that any unique business will make people visit it.

What I like about the location is that it is accessible yet private. Accessible because it is located in the heart of the busiest place in Santa Rosa Laguna and private because you need to take a stair as they are in 2nd Floor of the Yellow building near St. Peter Parish. Thumbs up for location!

Interior & Ambiance: 😊😊😊😊

There's this trend when it comes to the interior of new coffee shops - the most unique wins. Happy Tummy has a Japanese-ish concept where you need to take off your shoes before sitting on the wooden floor with a throw pillow or cushion. I like this idea very much because it also promotes cleanliness.

The ambiance when you enter suggest a relaxing vibe. It is best for dates and hangout with your friends because of the privacy you can get from each table set-up. You see, there is a second floor and all of the tables are made of wood. Kinda look like a playground to me, in a good way of course.

What I can recommend is to play Korean or Japanese music to incorporate it with the surroundings. Don't get me wrong, I listen to OPM and I like OPM but the environment of Happy Tummy is more of K-pop or J-pop type.

Service: 😊😊😊

The service is fast, this I can devulge. From assisting us to our table to serving the food, I can't say a bad thing about it. However, I want to say that the staff of Happy Tummy Santa Rosa has a half-sense of professionalism. I had observed that they chit-chat too loud that they disrupt the privacy of their customers.

They need to check their condiments because the ketchup in our table has a weird taste already. My hubby poured a generous amount of the sour ketchup on our cheesy french fries that's why we discovered that it is expired and we can't eat our fries anymore.

The food is okay. To tell you honestly, it was the first time I tasted an over-the-top shake. I like the shake's design because it is great for taking photos but the taste is too sweet for me. I think it is best to not sweeten the whip cream and just make it as plain as possible. I mean, Starbucks' frappes are also sweet but they keep their whip cream unsweeten so customers won't feel umay.

Hubby and I ordered Shawarma rice too besides the Cheesy french fries. The Shawarma rice is good but don't compliment the shakes. I suggest if you're going to try out their shakes, opt for ordering burgers instead.

I give them 3 smileys because Happy Tummy's management needs to make changes on their shakes because that's their main menu right? Their over-the-top shakes are the key point that can make or break them.

Price: 😊😊😊😊
The price is very affordable. Big thumbs up! I can't say anything with the price though I highly recommend changing some recipes on their shake and menu.

The Verdict

Will I visit Happy Tummy again? Yes I will come back because I want to try out ALL of their shake (I hope they can unsweeten the whip cream) and their burgers too!
