Another early memory of my time in New York, the Shake Shack has exploded into many locations, one of which is very close to where I live. You'd think that would be a dangerous thing, because it's just delicious. If I have "the craving", this is certainly at the top of my list.
This is a Shack Stack. Looks normal except for one extra fried thingy stuck in there that you may not recognize. Got any guesses for it?
I should have done one of those animated gifs with the cheese oozing out of this fried portabella (I think) mushroom. Be careful! That cheese is hot and can easily burn you! It sure burnt my mouth a bit too but it was so tasty that I did not care.
I'm not a good judge of the meat patty itself, but I'm anyway more about the fixings, for which this burger shines. For any vegetarians (dairy) out there, you can also order the shroom burger which is this burger without the meat patty. I've had that before too and am also a fan of it. That day I just needed the protein. Working brains and muscles ya!
If you eat inside the downtown Brooklyn location, and I imagine some other locations also do it, they offer samples of their shakes. This one was cookies and cream. It was good, and I was tempted to buy more. Can't say no to ice cream right? Well I did. Self pat.
There is one of these Shake Shacks in New York JFK airport as well if you ever fly through there.
Anyone else try this before and is a fan? Probably anyone in New York would know it and has tried it at some point.

literally Shack Shack is like burger crack! it has to be one of the top burgers I've ever eaten anywhere, and definitely outshines any other fast or semi fast food burger joint. west coasters will rave about In and Out, but in my opinion Shack Shake smokes them! I had it for the first time when I moved to NYC and it is definitely my guilty pleasure meal! I even found a Shake Shack in miami when I was visiting a couple months ago! Now Im craving BAD haha. First meal I'm going to have on my return to NYC, that is for certain! Too much good food there!

Oh yeah, in n out is still pretty good, too, but my go to is shake shack. I'm not sure if it's even a fair comparison really :). Maybe in n out should be compared to five guys.

Man that looks sooo good. I'm a Five Guys type of guy myself, but always up for a good burger from anywhere. I see there's two Shake Shacks here in town, so it's now on my list of have to try.
My wife loves mushroom anything too, so she won't be hard to convince despite the ongoing "watch your weight" commentary :D
