I love them plain and simple, but a really really love them
all danked up, mouthgasmic, Uber Dank, @gardenofeden style.
This sandwich began with a toasted, sprouted, seeded bread doused in butter.
Each slice of bread was built open faced so the huge stack of ingredients wouldn't fall over. Of course that also can create a bit of a challenge when flipping it to put it together.
The ingredients piled on high were:
- Egg Salad
- Genoa Salami
- Fresh Sliced Tomatoes
- Sliced Purple Onion
- Mixed Greens
- Homemade Candied Jalapenos and Onions
- Homemade Cauliflower/Ginger/Carrot Kim Chi
- Spicy Hot Sauce
- Ginger Dressing
- Salt
- Pepper
The combination of flavors, textures and temperatures made really impressive bites.
We used some of our favorite homemade staples - this time the Kimchi and Candied Jalapeños and Onions. We love having these on hand to use in many of our spontaneous dishes to add that personal, layered touch.
It was a juicy, spicy, sweet, crunchy, gooey, tart, crispy, crunchy yummy combination and would definitely be worth a repeat---except that we almost never repeat a dish at the @gardenofeden because we love so much making new inspired one-of-a-kind creations.
I have no doubt our next incarnation of the egg salad sandwich will be just as amazing as this one. Maybe you'll try something similar and tell me how great yours turned out!
Bon Appetit!
