Green-ish Curry and a Coconut

Dreaming of the tropical while eating thai green curry I made for myself this morning. I couldn't sleep last night because I was so excited about all the future plans I have. I was already at the grocery store by 7am when the doors opened and I had my breakfast/lunch/dinner ready by 8.30. I couldn't make the curry paste from scratch because I couldn't find all the ingredients for it, so I used a ready made paste and tweaked that quite a bit. Turned out pretty good, but I'm sure it's nothing compared to an authentic one. And with that in mind, if all goes well, I'll be getting the taste of the real deal in just a few months.

Along with having coconut cream in my curry, I bought a coconut plant! Look at this cutie! Never seen one in a flower shop before, and when I did some research I found out that these are extremely hard to keep alive for more than a year. Try and simulate warm, sunny and humid conditions into a dark, drafty and cold apartment, wish me luck.

Looks good, yummy

No more food posts! You're making me hungry! This is the only one you've done isn't it? I suppose I will let it go. :)

It looks familiar, I love curry! And your coco... ;) I have avokado at home, it also looks great!

I have an avocado too, it's a cute little thing!

I wanna have also lemon and... I will find something more especial ;)

Yummy, exactly what I needed to see now, it's dinner time around here :) I can totally relate to your late-night/early-morning experience though. A few weeks ago I was in Seoul and horribly jetlagged. I got so hungry at 3am that I decided to go out to search for some delicious Korean food, since I couldn't get any sleep anyway, haha :) Later I blogged about the awesome food I found there, in case you are interested: https://steemit.com/food/@raci/five-korean-dishes-i-fell-in-love-with-in-seoul

what if we're having family for dinner?

both are pretty important to me ;-)

joked (^_^)

Wow! I like the coconut plant. Never saw one either. Great curry. I love curries and make them often. I use the red and green. They are rich and comforting. Yours looks yummy! Have a wonderful day. Tess :)

Yummy 👍

as a chef and a big fun of the asian foods, i think this is one the nice ideas i ve picked from internet this week and that i will try in my restaurant in france soon as a plate of the day,
personnally i like coconut and especially coconut milk when it is flavoured with thousands of nice smelly asian spices.
later on i will post back a photo of my version of your plate.

It seems that you will have to make that apartment warm and cozy for the plant :)

Mind sharing the recipe :-) or link.

Hey, I like your write up, It is very interesting. I am following you, can you follow me @xtophercruzeu thanks

Good diet!

=\

This looks so cool. The coconut itself like a vase, an organic vase... life is amazing <3

Delicious. I lived in Trinidad many years ago and just reading your post gave me back those wonderful tastes in my mouth. Thank for your post. I also posted a taste cook of my region. You can see it . That post I named it Black and white viagra for couples in 2018. But, it talks about black beans with coconut milk in white rice.

Green curry is one of my favorite foods ever :)

the pleasures of life such as tasting good food are always unique.

Hi, I recommend a super curry that they sell in Trinidad, it's the best one I've tried. Also known as masala, I really think you will love it, and it will give that magical touch to your meals. luck.

Looks delicious! I don't know if you are aware of the fact that coconut oil can be used for your hair. It works great!

Nom, I love thai green curry. Never knew that's what a coconut plant looks like. All the best in caring for that plant!

It looks like a very unique recipe looks yummy....thank you for sharing with us.

I really wish you luck! Over the years, I have managed to grow an orange tree, a lemon, a date palm, and now I have a pomegranate tree left in the ground outside. Fortunately, we still have a very unusual warm weather here. Hope it can resist till Spring. ;)

Aww, I'm a little jealous, I'd love to have all kinds of tropical trees in my apartment :D

Hope it really grows. You can transplant it later.

yay! so happy I found another foodie here...this curry looks super delicious :)

@eveuncovered its very simple and healthy food and about the coconut its very difficult to keep it alive in a house it needs a special place or extra care to keep it between sun and shadow

The funny thing about traveling is not where you're going, but who you are when you get there.

Looks absolutely delicious

My favourite thai green curry! I got hungry right now. :))
