Enough
Sometimes people ask me what my diet is like. How many meals do I eat a day. Well, I eat two meals a day for the most part and lunch during the week usually consists of either a shake or a salad like this one. After giving my response I often get back 'Is it enough?' or 'Aren't you hungry?'
To which I answer, 'yes it's enough' and 'no, I'm not hungry.'
In this salad I prepared:
1/2 an apple
heaping handful of spinach
4 small kale leaves
roasted garlic
cherry tomatoes
hemp seed
maca root powder
and sliced almonds (not pictured)
So, no I'm not hungry and yes it's enough. Another note about hunger. If you eat lunch and dinner, it's enough. Our body needs far less than what we think. More often than not, we are either eating too much or not eating the right things at all.
I've found that those little hunger pains are not truly hunger pains if you've eaten that day. It's usually your mind telling you to eat, not your body. So don't be fooled and fight the urge to snack throughout the day. Have a glass of water instead ;)
Let's not forget that the human body can go for weeks without food. So if you've had two or three meals in a day and think you're hungry before bed, that is most likely not the case. Fight the urge once or twice and you'll find that those cravings will disappear.

believe it or not my shakes have the same ingredients minus the tomato. I usually switch it up come the weekends with some homade pizza or something.
