Food is an edible substance liquid or solid which when eaten and digested, provides the body with materials needed in performing functions.
Examples are

There are some tiny chemicals found in foods, these are calked NUTRIENTS.
Each of these nutrients performs a specific function in the body. When there is shortage, or lack of of some of these nutrients a particular health disorder occurs.
With use. an engine or a motor car will break down, and new spare parts have to be bought to repair the worn out part of the car before it can function properly.

Food is needed in the body in order to keep us in Hood health.
