The post went up on both Steemit and Whaleshares, "SHARING THE BLESSING - SHIPPING FREE DRAGONFRUIT CUTTINGS!", which if anyone knows @papa-pepper this is a fairly common occurrence, the offering of gifts. I responded to his post that I would absolutely love a cutting to help fill my house with green, to which he responded that I was on the list. Today the package made it to my door step!
Opening the box I found 3 nice and large sections of Dragonfruit cactus! Seriously awesome, and the largest even has a few roots pushed out of one end!
The 3 pieces currently are sitting amongst the plants in the living room window. I have soil ready but I am needing to find my sand to mix in to give the cactuses the correct soil conditions to help promote the rapid growth that I expect from them. The only issue I have now is space... I need to put these into larger containers so I am not trying to transplant a semi-fragile BIG cactus later, but the amount of lit space in the house is pretty limited. It will probably be best to get them rooted first then transplant before they get into a solid growth phase.
Included in the package was this really cool picture of @papa-pepper with note on the back and a Steemit bracelet from Mexico.
These pieces of cactus are nice and solid, full of life, and are ready to start growing. I look forward to them getting large enough to start producing!
