#5 When romans reached America

We all know that the fruit of Ananas (pineapple) grows in South America (also if in our times we have plantations in Asia and Africa), and from our books of history , we can easily read that many fruits and vegetables reached Europe only after the Expedition of Cristoforo Colombo in America in 1492.
Well some of historical researcher and experts , are trying to rewrite the history, and the evidences start to be really important.
The Vikings now is proved that reached the lands of Terranova and Canada already many years before Colombo, but in the last years a new incredible theory came out, we are speaking about Romans.

To support this thesis, have been found mosaics and little sculptures where are depicted Ananas , a real anachronistic mystery.

And that`s not all, in 2014 has been found in front of Tuscany an ancient wreck of a roman ship, and inside a group of baskets and vessels, the DNA test , noted the presence of corn and sunflower seeds.

The professors of history and archaeologists are actually studying this possibility, ad they re very confident also because they found strong allies in the texts of ancient roman philosophers and scholars , like Plinio the old that at his time already was confident that the Atlantic Ocean was bigger then Mediterranean and that was possible to reach the India sailing to the west.
They also discover in South of France that many ships were reinforced with lead , so the wood under the water of the sea was protected and able to spend a lot of time in the sea without be damaged.
And the mathematic , astronomy and geographer Claudio Tolomeo, already was speaking about a land at west, but he thought it was the other side of India (where roman already had the commercial port of Muziris). He was wrong , he thought that world was smaller. Then Roman empire fell down in 476 AC and Europe switched off the light on the research and progress for nearly 1000 years.

British, Italian , American archeologists are actually working hard to discover more and maybe one day, the history will be rewritw....and we will say that in Rome they were already eating corn , sunflower seeds and pineapple while the legions were dominating the world.
