People suffering from type 2 diabetes like my husband has limited access to food unless they take medicine. We decided to stop taking medicine because it has numerous side effects such as rapid heartbeat and hyperthyroidism which has affected us much, moods, our relationship, and financial condition, etc.
I read about ketogenic diet in the internet while browsing alternative medicine for combat his diabetes. It was a big decision in January this year. And glad we were strong to change our lifestyle. After a month, we have seen improvements on his health. He is a little bit rare condition with him because he is not obese kind of person, the opposite ~ underweight. He's been underweight ever since no matter how we tried. At that time he was suffering from hyperthyroidism, diabetes, rapid heart-beat and fatty liver. That was so frustrating for us but as a wife I have to symbolized hope and be strong for him.
We did not tell his doctor about not taking diabetic tablets because she might not agree but he continue to visit her to comply with the laboratory test and physical examination needed. The doctor said his health was improving. His last visit may 19, 2018, she congratulated him of the results.
Next visit will be on june 20, 2018.
Some days we have cheat days like serving this simple desserts. I always choose the less harmful sweets such as this mini toast: grilled whole wheat bread topped with sugarfree strawberry jam, and mashed avocado with milk and slice cheese.
Healthy breakfast contributes to a pleasant day.
