Sashimi Vs. Sushi @senseicat

My wife, who is Japanese, finds this very thing to be quite hilarious as well.

We live in Los Angeles, and more specifically, the San Fernando Valley. We talk often about when she first moved here from Osaka, and how confused she was when people would ask her if she wanted to go and get Sushi for lunch or dinner, which she of course would say yes too, but when getting to the place, supposedly serving Sushi, she'd look at the menu and only see California rolls, haha!

For the record,
*"Sushi" is when a raw piece of fish or a number of other ingredients, however most commonly raw seafood, is set over the top of differently prepared vinegar-rice.
*Sashimi is a raw piece or pieces of fish alone on a plate, no rice.
*And a Roll is anything wrapped in a long piece of seaweed with rice cut into sections, regardless of if it is raw or not but is not and should not be considered "Sushi".

I love that you posted this and hopefully we, together can start a revolution to have these things properly classified, forcing everyone to stop calling everything with fish, "Sushi" LMAO!
