Came here for a brunch where my little bro and I got to meet my big bro’s girlfriend for the first time. It was a public holiday and extremely busy.
The coffees are great with the iced coffee coming highly recommended from me because it comes with ice cream. My little brother swears by this coffee and even dares to say that it’s the best in Melbourne.

The great thing about eating in a big group is that you can order so many things and share! Here is the crispy pork belly with pickled and burnt onions, apples, blueberries, poached eggs and torn fried bread and it was delicious. It was the strangest thing to have the blueberries included and we were debating if it was olives but it didn’t taste like one. We then remembered the menu said blueberries.

Crispy Pork Belly

This dish below is the gin and lime cured ocean trout fillet with picked baby beetroots, potato galette (fancy name for layered potato squares), poached eggs, leaves, goats curd and toast. The trout had crispy skin and was cooked well which was nice but too small a serving. I’m not a fan of cheese at all so the goats curd was a bad addition to the dish in my opinion.

Salmon

My eyes light up when I see soft shell crab so of course we had to order it. The brioche bun was very soft but crispy and so fresh. It was delicious but just too small.

Obviously with all these savoury dishes, we had to order something sweet and the blueberry ricotta pancakes. It was more like one massive cake about 3cms tall and just the single layer. It was amazing and something I’d definitely love to come back to.

Nizzle pancakes

We were a bit greedy and we ordered a bit too much. Our last dish was the coconut chia pudding with Queensland mango, strawberries, elderflower honey and buckwheat crumble. It must be an acquired taste because I couldn’t quite click with the texture. It was thick and very coconutty. I can appreciate that quality was very good but not my cup of tea.

An amazing place which explains why it is always busy with a massive queue.
