Brussel Sprouts, Beer Cheese, and....Beer on a Saturday Afternoon

My Saturday started earlier than normal. Coffee, a walk with my dag, my kids' basketball games, and grocery shopping. All done before 10:00am! When I went to pay for my groceries, I found a gift card buried deep in my wallet. A gift card I got for Christmas a couple years back. A gift card for the spa. Ring... Ring... Can you fit me in for a massage and facial today? Yes, noon will be great! See you then. 

Done and done.

Several hours later I found myself, pampered and polished, relaxed and refreshed, and... hungry. I saw a sandwich place across the parking lot. Even Stevens. I gave it a try.

Have you heard of Even Stevens? I hadn't. I went in for a sandwich, but was more than delighted to see they served beer and wine! My heart fills with joy when I find a new establishment in Utah that serves alcohol. This is not an understatement. The emotion literally is joy.

The beer selection was slim, but they did offer a wonderful bottled-in-Utah brew. Canned in Utah, actually. Little Hole, a lager from the Vernal Brewing Co.

I ended up skipping a sandwich and, on the manager's recommendation, tried the pretzels with beer cheese and roasted brussel sprouts. I know you're questioning me on the brussel sprouts, but Oh My God! If I had not been surrounded by a bunch of strangers, I would have licked that bowl clean. We're talking about maple glazed roasted brussel sprouts topped with bacon. Candy. That's what it was. I ate candy for lunch.

There are many items on the menu I want to try including the Capreezy and Banh Mi sandwiches, the vegan breakfast burrito called The Morrissey, and the Stuffed French Toast. Yes, they even have mimosas to go with those breakfast items.

There are Even Stevens locations throughout the West. Seven in Utah. And get this. Even Stevens gives back to the community! For every sandwich they sell, they give a sandwich to a non-profit. Looks like I'll be ordering a sandwich next time.
