Hi Everyone!
Oh my good, I've been so lazy these couple weeks. Didn't post anything on steem for quite sometimes.
And today I'm back, again I made an Apple Pie request from my husband.
Wasn't so sure at first if I'm gonna share my recipe again, because I already post my Apple Pie recipe couple weeks ago. But then, I always make different recipe though, so must as well I share it.
I don't know...I just like to try other recipe until I find my favorite one.
Today, I made the simple one. And, unlike my first recipe where I used granulated sugar in my pie, today I only using brown sugar. And I also made different crust recipe. This time I made sweet crust, It's pretty good and I liked it more than my first crust recipe.
Ok, First... I'm gonna write down what are the ingredients you gonna need.
INGREDIENTS
For The Crust:
- 2 cups Flour
- 1/4 cups Icing Sugar
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 150 g Cold Butter
- 1 Egg yolk
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- Ice Water (as needed)
For The Filling:
- 8-10 Apples (depends on size)
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1 tsp Cinnamon Powder
Those are the stuffs you gonna need! simple right? don't you think?
Ok, let's start!
METHODS
Step 1
Working On Pie Crust would do....
- Get ready all the Pie Crust Ingredients.
- Gather and whisk all the dry ingredients, flour, icing sugar, and salt.
- Use your clean hands to squash the butter.
- add in egg yolk and vanilla extract, combine them.
- Add in a bit by bit a cold water as needed.
- Divide the dough in to two, wrap them up using a plastic wrap and refigerate for at least an hour.
Step 2
Get ready the filling.
- Peel and cut/slice the apples.
- Heat the butter, then add in the apples, brown sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon.
- Cook until the apples are soft and the juice are thicken.
- Set aside.
Step 3
Forming the dough/crust
- Take out the dough from the fridge.
- Roll the dough out to fit the pie plate.
- Place crust into pie plate, press evenly into the bottom and side of the pie plate.
- Looks really complicated, but it's actually very easy. You gonna need a pair of kitchen scissor to cut the edges all around the pie crust.
- And using your finger tip try to press apart to shape.
And, Continue with the top/cover crust.
- Roll up the dough, cut into long thin strips.
- Braids strip.
- Cut 4 circle for each roses you'll need, roll the dough circle up into a tube. When you reach the end of the roll, pressing it against the roll to seal. And then, using a knife, slice the centre of the rolls and gently flare the petals.
Step 4
Getting ready to form the pie.
Transfer the apple filling into ready pie crust.
Decorate, put on the ready pie crust cover.
Brush with egg yolk.
Sprinkles with sugar cinnamon.
And, last step! bake in 375 degrees F for 45 minutes (the crust golden brown).
Serve it with vanilla ice cream.
Finally, thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day, Xoxo
