Ways to maximize healthy effect of broccoli

Choose vegetables that have a green color with no brown spots.
There are two ways to prepare wholesome broccoli:

  1. Broccoli can be eaten raw
  2. or boil in a water for 5 minutes but you should scliced broccoli and wait 40 minutes before .

These two methods ensure that sulforaphane will be produced. If you only boil it without slicing, sulforaphane will not occur.

Sulforaphane is a natural substance with chemopreventive activity. Its precursor - glukoraphanin, occurs in the vegetables of the Brassicaceae family. Sulforaphane possess a wide-spectrum of activities beneficial to human health. This compound is a potent inducer of detoxifying enzymes, thus providing cells protection from harmful substances, including carcinogens. Due to its anti-cancer properties, sulforaphane is also the subject of many studies on its use as a chemotherapy adjuvant.
