Breaking Habits - Is 21 Days Enough?

in food •  7 years ago  (edited)

It feels good to hear someone else's experience with breaking unhealthy habits. I've heard that the 21 day plan is helpful, but you're right in that each person needs to set their own timeline for freeing themselves from addiction -- and not give up. Some experts say three 21 day sessions is usually required to reinforce and solidify the good habits and remove the bad ones from our consciousness. Dr. Carlione Leaf has some insights on the subject: https://drleaf.com/blog/63-days-to-think-and-eat-yourself-smart/ Keep up the good fight Anne!

Awesome read! Thank you for linking that Dr. Leaf article! I think three cycles of 21 days would definitely do the trick, I think it becomes easier if you have a goal in mind and you are able to count days. It makes you feel like you are truly making progress!
