STEEMIT CULINARY CHALLENGE 31: Wild, Wild Salad - 19 wild plants - trees, flowers, weeds! - with foraging ID quiz

That's a good point. Even so, there are little pockets of wild plants that can be good food. I went to Washington, DC earlier this month and made a great wild salad from the plants behind my hotel - Another Free Hotel Salad - Wild Style!. You would be a good forager, since you already have the mindset to think about the quality of place where the plants are growing!

Aw, thanks! My plan though is to collect plants to eat in the mountains of KY where we plan on going later this month, besides the locals know which of them are edible, I'm pretty excited! Thanks for the recommendation!

That's great! You are headed to part of the country where there is such a strong tradition of eating from the land. Having locals to go foraging with is a great way to find something good to eat -- they know the plants, the locations, and what's prime for the picking. Happy foraging - and if you write a post about it, the #Foraging tag will help everyone find your post to appreciate it!

Oh cool! Thank you for the idea!
