Ingredients
1/2 pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter at room temperature
1 cup light brown sugar, slightly packaged
1/2 cup of granulated sugar
2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract
2 extra large eggs at room temperature
2 cups All purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon of kosher salt
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
1 1/4 pound half-chocolate pieces, like Nestle's
Directions
Move the oven to 350 degrees. Fats and flour an 8 x 12 x 2 inch baking pan.
In the bowl of an electric mixer with the paddle attachment, cream the butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar at high speed for 3 minutes until light and fluffy. With the mixer on the low, add the vanilla, then the eggs, one at a time, and mix well, scratched the bowl. In a small bowl, melt the flour, the baking soda and the salt, and add the flour mixture of the butter mixture slowly with the mixer to low. Fold the walnuts and chocolate pieces with a rubber spatula.
Place the dough in the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake well for 30 minutes. Do not bake! A toothpick can not come clean. In the pan completely cool and cut into bars.
