I had the wondrous experience of trying out Basque food in a high-end restaurant called Sagardi. A friend I had randomly met on my Emirates flight from Barcelona to Dubai last year, invited me to this restaurant on my second visit back to Barcelona. Sagardi is located in Eixample neighborhood of Barcelona.

Perhaps you might be wondering, why eating Basque food in Catalunya. Well, it was the suggestion and choice of my Catalan friend who said that Sagardi is a very nice place to eat, so I went along with the plan. Plus, I'm not sure when I'll ever get to visit the Basque region of Spain (or in France) ... so it was a great experience to try out the local food that is present in Basque country.

The restaurant itself quickly filled up, and the entire place was booked out by reservation ... so if you do intend on trying out Sagardi, be sure to make a reservation.

There is lots of Basque food that I'm not familiar with, so I decided to take photo of the menu so that you can also look for yourself should you want to see what food Basque people usually eat.
