It’s great to have friends all over the world. They tell you about the best choices that are not easily discoverable by the common tourist.

So, thanks to Steemit and @karinxxl I went to this fantastic street food market in Amsterdam.

It is called “Foodhallen” and it is an international indoor food market in a historical venue in Amsterdam.

It has opened in “De Hallen Amsterdam” a newly renovated tram depot in October 2014. The concept was inspired by indoor food markets like the “Torvehallerne” in Copenhagen, “Mercado de San Miguel” in Madrid and the “Borough Market” in London.

You can wander around in the large loft-like space of the “Foodhallen” and discover a selection of small (signature) dishes from all over the world. Mediteranean, Asian , Latin you name it.

And as it is time of the Word Cup they made special stands so that you can enjoy your food while you watch football and support your national team.

I went there two days. First day I chose the Vietnamese booth and got a sandwich with cooked pork and pickled veggies. I am not a fan of pickles but those had a very light flavor and blended perfectly with the meat. All in all it was a good choice.

Second day I visited the Spanish booth.

They had a kinds of local ham and sausages.

I got a small sandwich with Jamon Iberico and some olive oil. Simple but extremely delicious. Sometimes all you need is two great ingredients.

Then I had a big chorizo baguette. The meat was fantastic. Sliced and cooked, tender and fatty. My arteries don’t appreciate these kinds of meals but I walked enough to burn all those calories.

Foodhallen is a little bit pricey, as it is everything in Amsterdam, but it is worth the experience.

Thank you again @karinxxl for pointing this out.

And until the next food adventure…

i am so damn happy you went to the place. I KNEW this would be a succes haha.. I went there in November and had a blast as well seen this post

I had the same experience hahaha

I knew I should trust you !!! If I had the time I would taste all the booths. :)

Thanks again .

I do not understand this food ... too much bread. Is Giros tastier?

Nothing is tastier than gyros ... My totally unbiased opinion. :)

Have you tried soup borsch? Or herring under a fur coat? )))

No soup can be compared to gyros !!! :)

( I don't eat soups to save my life :) )

Tourists always say that these dishes are their greatest impressions from Russia ;)

When I visit Moskow I will give them a try. :)

What a wonderful place 😍! :-)
I would become poor and fat there ✌️

Great pictures by the way. 👍

I would agree. Thank you. :)

thanks for sharing this delicious post

Thanks for dropping by. :)

It would be great to live next to such a wonderful market, "Foodhallen." It's so interesting to try all the dishes of the world!

Yes, it would be great, but as another friend said above we would become fat and poor.
Not a good combination :)

I treat myself very strictly, with regard to nutrition. But why, sometimes, not to be pampered within reasonable limits?

Sometimes is fine. Only sometimes though. :)

No more...
