Bulad (Danggit, Pusit)

Bulad - cebuano word when used as verb it means to sun dry; when used as noun dried fish or squid;

This is definitely one of my favorite food everytime I miss my hometown.

Danggit and pusit is a well known delicacy in our province. It is normally served during breakfast with egg and garlic rice with soy sauce. To top it all, its best eaten using your fingers.

Where to buy?
In cebu, you can buy affordable bulad at Taboan Market. It is the best place to buy affordable delicacies for tourists.

Well it is indeed very delicious but we can never deny its pungent smell. I remembered every time I cook this, my two year son would smirk and put his finger on his nose and say “Mama, smelly the food.” But how ever it smells like after cooking it, after you eat, it absolutely satistfies our hunger.

I am always excited every time someone brings for me this from cebu.

But if times you crave for dried pusit and its far from reach, let’s just cook fried calamari.
