Aloha friends!
I’d like to share this delicious Caesar beef salad with you but first I’d like to share my morning adventure that led to this meal. Don’t worry, it’ll be very short and sweet.
This morning I packed my camel bag with ice cold water and an apple just in case I needed something to get me through. At 10am, I set off on a walking adventure from my house towards the South side of Oahu. Within about 20 minutes, I found myself walking along the sidewalk on Kalanianaoli Highway going towards Niu Valley. One thing I didn’t plan on was the heavy traffic noise...duh! It was very loud but I was determined to have a very nice long walk along these 4 lanes freeway regardless. Tuning out the noise, I was very delighted by different types of residential home along the way., very close to the ocean water. Some were surrounded by luscious flower trees and fruit trees, while some were just too large, IMHO, to be called homes.
Along Kalanianaoli Highway, I stopped at two very beautiful but slightly different beach parks and chatted with a few people. Yes, I will post about those two parks later. Anyhow, after two hours of walking towards the South side, I decided to turn around and head back home. Although slightly tired, I was bummed for not reaching the third beach park. However, in very good spirit and a plan to tackle the third park on the next journey, I headed back home.
Instead of getting home first, as sweaty and stinky as I was; Sophia walked into a grocery store for three items; romaine lettuce, steak, and a bottle of Chardonnay. No shame! By now the sun has been soaking this brown skin for almost four hours. No worries! I’m very close to home.
Ok, I showered as soon as I got home. Ate half an apple. Poured some wine. Then proceed to making a late lunch of a delicious Caesar steak salad with the remaining leftover sweet and crunchy red apple...
Yes, dear friends, I did poured me some wine with this delicious salty romaine Caesar with crunchy sweet apple and some thinly sliced steak! After this post, I might need a quick nap.
And here is a map of kinda where I was....along here...
And that concludes so far of what I did on a day off. I hope you’ve enjoyed my short story into this plate of deliciousness. What do you think?! I’d love to hear what you think of my morning adventure and especially this plate of salad.
And as always, until we meet again, have a great day!
Aloha!
I like the salad. Was the dressing more like a vinaigrette? I think of caesar dressing as being creamier. The glass of wine was a great idea! I was trying to be nosey and read your dry erase board on the floor but I could not read it from this distance! Thanks for making me hungry now!

Hi @chefsteve! I mixed the creamy and more clear watery dressing together; 2 in 1.

is it fairly expensive to import that beef? It does look good.

Hi. Depending on its’s grade/quality, it could range from $7 -$20 per pound. This one was medium price range. Yes, everything is expensive here on Oahu and other neighboring islands.
Mahalo and aloha!
