Aloha! I'm Sophia
I know that we all can use a little vacation to relax, recharge, and a nice tropical paradise couldn't hurt. Well, may I entice you for a little rest and relaxation on a tropical island of Hawaii? To be specific; Honolulu, Hawaii. Sometimes referred to as Waikiki.
I get it. Yes, Honolulu is famous for its' lush tropical plants and mountains. The weather is so perfectly warm year round with a slight gentle breeze. And the beach? Oh, the beaches are so clean and prestine. Which ever directions you are headed, there's beaches all along the coast waiting for you. Sounds perfect right?
It really is except for the price of paradise. Today, I'd like to discuss food prices. Actually, I'm only going to show you four food items that most of us are familiar with. There is no intent to offend anyone but is strictly use to gauge the food prices currently in Honolulu, Hi.
These four discounted items are half-gallon of milk, 18 eggs, a pack of bacon, and a 14 flo-oz of coconut oil. Compared to where you're living, is our price cheaper, normal, expensive, or very expensive? Let's check it out.
First, a half-gallon of whole milk. Check out this price...
Second is an 18 count of large eggs. What do you think of this price? Me? I'm gonna pass for now.
Bacon! No offense to our vegan friends here. A pack of bacon is going for $8.99, on sale! Me?! I'm so passing this one.
Sorry, I forgot to download picture.
And last item is a 14 flo-oz jar of coconut oil. Seriously, I hear that it's good for your health but my pocketbook is not letting me go for it.
From the prices of those four items, would you consider our food prices cheap, normal, expensive, or super expensive?
I hope you find this post helpful. Should you one day plan to visit Hawaii or specifically Honolulu, just be prepared for the hefty food prices. And as always, have a wonderful day.
Aloha!
It wasnt hard to notice the crazy prices when I was in Kauai as well! A half gallon was 7$ and a pack of bagels was around 10! I guess the tradeoff is the weather :)

I think that's the shocker for many visitors. Unfortunately. Let's not even go there with real estates. Have a wonderful day. Aloha

Looks like I'll be moving out there and opening a chicken ranch! I've got 4 hens here in Texas and give away eggs regularly. If I scale that up a little to just 4,000 hens looks like I could make a pretty decent living.

Wouldn't that be a splendid idea. Oh, real estate is pricey too. These are two top challenging dilemmas for most folks living here. Have a great day. Aloha
