Iodine actually is a necessary nutrient, and in some countries (such as Finland), where the soil is lacking iodine, people can get deficient somewhat easily. Therefore, in some countries the use of regular table salt is justified by all means. :)

I just wanted to point out all the benefits of the Himalayan salt and why I think it is better than regular salt.
