FIVE ESSENTIALS RULES AT THE TABLE

in food •  7 years ago

FOOD, is elementary for our organism, it represents a real need, for that reason, many times we are desperate to bring to the mouth all that is served at the table, forgetting, that there are rules to be fulfilled. In this opportunity, I want you learn or remember them.

Here we leave the five rules:

  1. At the time of eating foods that contain bones, thorns or inedible fragments, you have to remove them from your mouth with your hands and leave them on a plate, either the service or a separate one. It's unacceptable to spit, that's in very bad taste.

  2. It is important to chew food well and not put a new spoon in the mouth until the one that is chewing has been swallowed.

  3. You should not talk while eating. That hinders what is being said and is also unseemly.

  4. It is not okay to play with the utensils, or use them for something other than eating. They are going to get dirty and besides, it can be taken like an expression of nervousness or impatience.

  5. We must always give “Thanks” when people serve us food, and say "Please", when requesting something, will show a courteous action that evidences our level of instruction.

Although it seems that in a dinner of etiquette everything has to be treated as if we were in an operating room, the truth is that it is not true and there are other foods, apart from bread, which can also be eaten with the hands:

             • Potato chips and similar snacks.
             • Canapes
             • Corncobs
             • Biscuits
             • Sandwiches
             • Artichokes, but only when we use the petals of them to dip them in sauce.
             • Small fruits such as cherries.

Of all these rules the most essential is to thank Almighty God for the food he has provided, as we have learned from our Savior Jesus Christ, through the gospel of Matthew 6: 9-12:

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amén.

Confirming the word expressed by the prophet Malachi 3: 16-17:
  1. Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a bookof remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

17 And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.
