Cringing myself after giving in to the temptation of eating a plateful of lechon (roasted pig) last weekend after my morning 6kilometer run around the City of Golden Friendship, Cagayan de Oro!
We, Filipinos, love to indulge the crispy skins and how it (slurps ) makes you drool on it's juicy meat. Mygahd
Lechon is a whole pig and all its insides (like intestines etc) are taken out and replaced with all spices which explains its aroma and meat's tenderness. Imagine that
I haven't taken a picture of my meal last weekend so as to keep guilt-free. Hehe But here's a throwback photo of lechon that's never absent on every Filipino family gatherings.
This was during my company's summer event
Paired best with some rhum or beer with a couple of friends and chitchat during a town fiesta in 2011
Although this takes ton of calories on my diet now but can't help it! Must run double time for that. Butttttttt, how can you resist on this one?
Seriously, i'm just craving now perhaps of the rainy weather we have here in the city.
Philippines is seriously good on this one. It has a lot of variety and styles how it's spiced and cooked up. Some of them even twisted it and go boneless with stacked chicken meat too. yumyumyum
You'll never go wrong with lechon though coz after the crispiness, you can cook the leftovers and turn it into lechon adobo.
Must go home now and beg for Mom to find something...errrr...on a second thought, the rain pours hard outside at the moment. Can't battle mother nature now! I only have to keep on wishing!
