Years of living in Asia and I thought I'd seen most of the wonderful sweets on offer, but no. Yesterday at the market I found this ancient woman selling these hand made packets of goodness.
Tightly wrapped sticky rice in banana leaf. The interesting thing was that there was a purplish paste running through it!
When I cut it open it had a pleasant smell and tasted something like yam although I had difficultly identifying the taste. I will do some research and update my post if I can find out what the purple consisted of.
Cambodia has some wonderful produce, food and people. It's totally worth a visit 😉!
