SPOTTED #15: Japanese Sweets (Part 2)

in food •  8 years ago  (edited)

Last time I showed you some Japanese Sweets here

I got a couple of chat requests to post more about Japanese Sweets so here comes the next collection of stuff I like to buy once in a while. Most of the things can buy in Singapore or Thailand in Japanese Supermarkets if you don't have the chance to go to Japan.

Black Sesame Chocolate in Mochi

This is fantastic if you like Mochi. You have Black Sesame taste Chocolate wrapped in Mochi. It tastes great!

Meiji Chocolife (Strawberry Taste)

Hokkaido Milk, Black Sesame and Caramel Milk taste Chocolate

Potelong is a super crispy snack. They look like fries and are kinda addictive. Only thing I like better is Jagariko (another potato snack)

Pocky Coconut Chocolate ( Readers in Germany might now these sticks as Mikado..) There is a Game called Mikado in Europe so they thought the name might be stickier.. Anyway I have only seen the very standard Pockey in Europe, which is quite boring. In Asia they sell all crazy flavors of Pocky, I once saw even Durian Pocky's!

Don't blame me if you go to the next JP shop and buy some sweets !

For me going to Japan is knowingly going to get fat. I have breakfast, lunch, Teatime, Dinner usually and than you have snacks. While I could hold my weight at +1.5Kg so far it does not help to have 24H supermarkets and many many things I need to try out. If you go to Japan go to a Depa-chica (Department Store Basement) you will find delicacies there and you will be tempted to buy a lot.

Have you been to Japan? Did you get fat???

I have tried Japanese candies. They are less sweeter than American ones. Just the right amount for the tongue without being obviously diabetic.

I am not a candy fan but there is so much sweets in japan. you will get insane. first you can try everything at the supermarket. than go to all the small stores offering some sweets from all over japan.. it is insane.. I even didnt stsart with japanese pastries yet... but coming up ;)
