Ingredients

1 3/4 cups cake flour

Procedure
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine and sift the following dry ingredients - cake flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt.
  2. With a wire whisk, mix all the ingredients well and gradually pour the evaporated milk and vanilla extract while consistently mixing.
  3. Add in the regular eggs and mix it well with the ingredients. Set aside.
  4. Set steamer. When the water is boiling, it's time to pour the flour mixture in a baking pan, about 3/4 full. Steam this for 25-30 minutes or you can check it using a clean toothpick. Pierce the cake with it and when there is a mixture that sticks with it when you remove the toothpick, it means it is not cooked yet.
  5. While waiting for the cake in the steamer, prepare the salted eggs. Peel and slice them thinly.
  6. Place the salted egg slices on top of the cake while steaming.
  7. After 30 minutes and doing the toothpick test, remove cake from the steamer and let it cool to room temperature.
  8. Remove cakes from its mold and it's ready to serve.
