Bulgogi or pulgogi is a typical South Korean dish made from sheets of thinly sliced beef and cooked by baking or pan-stir-fry. These meat sheets before cooking are usually firstly delineated with a mixture of soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, garlic, pepper, and other spices such as ginger to taste more delicious and softer texture.
Bulgogi is usually served with many different kinds of side dishes each served in small bowls (very typical Korean!). Roasted bulgogi meat is also sometimes given a bit of chili sauce and eaten by wrapped in lettuce leaves with rice and other side dishes, then crammed into the mouth: D. Other leafy vegetables can also be used, but most often is lettuce. I've also seen something that wraps a side dish with a sea-clad sheet, but I'm not sure it's bulgogi or not, hehe ..
