My friend once told me that grilled eels are expensive outside the country, but here in Indonesia eels are cheap. I like fried eels or eels with sambal (chili paste).

Beautiful post! I do love Chinese food, but I have a soy intolerance, so it takes out 99% of the Chinese-American foods out there. :-(
I understand, however, that the prominence of soy isn't necessarily authentic Chinese food, so maybe what you feature is a bit healthier for me.
