Corn is an important commodity of agricultural products after rice crop, the role of corn is very big for poultry farming, and 4 legged livestock, as a source of nutritious food that is needed in the animal feed industry, because the productivity of the national corn is still low then the import of corn becomes an option, maize planting spread outside Java and livestock feed factory is still concentrated in Java and Sumatera Island, causing transportation cost of transportation of maize become expensive and difficult to compete with imported corn.

almost everyone has consumed processed foods from corn, there are even some areas in Indonesia that make corn as the staple food.planting corn is not too difficult because it can be planted anywhere with low cost.



Corn is an attractive model plant especially in the fields of biology and agriculture. Since the beginning of the 20th century, this plant has been the subject of intensive genetic research, and has helped to create a revolutionary hybrid cultivar technology. From the side of physiology, this plant belonging to C4 plants so it is very efficient use of sunlight. In agronomic studies, dramatic and peculiar maize responses to nutritional deficiencies or poisoning of important nutrients make corn the preferred crop of fertilization physiology experiment.

The intact green corn crop is utilized by farming as a forage farm. The content of corn protein is high enough as a source of feed for cattle and buffalo. Bioenergy field develops corn with high cellulose content to be utilized biomass as a renewable energy source.
