Hello fellow steemits!
It’s been a while since I have blogged and in that time I have been to Melbourne for a little family getaway and found this little hidden Thai restaurant on flinders lane called Jing Jai Thai.
And one word it is delicious! I was pleasantly surprised at the different flavors , the presentation and also the cost (which was fairly well priced!)
The Som tum tad (basically meaning paw paw salad on a platter has paw paw salad (Thai style) and around it has Thai style condiments which compliment the paw paw salad greatly. There is so many different hits and flavors on this platter. The wings are my favorite too. They have a spicy and sour taste to them much like tom yum soup. I have actually never tried a combo like this before and really enjoyed it. The “Som pak” which is the green fermented spinach was nice and sour and salty. The pork crackers were nice and crunchy. And adding in the bean sprouts, salad, boiled eggs and vermicelli noodles was nice to eat and to break up the spicy ness from the paw paw salad.
The crispy soft shell crab with green apple salad was also a must try! The salad had flavors of sourness and hotness with a crunch and it complimented the soft shell crab so well!
The mixed meat platter was also another favorite (especially with the kids) it had four different meats and the sesame seeds sprinkled on top gave it a different texture when you were eating it.
If you are on the hunt for a Thai fix in the city be sure to check this place out. I highly recommended it and I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!
Thank you in advance for reading my blog.
Lots of love, Linh xx
