Karedok Typical Sundanesse Food

In Jakarta, there are so many sellers of karedok. Because of that many people think that karedok is a typical food of Betawi, but it is not.

Karedok is a typical Sundanese food that has similarities with gado-gado.

Karedok serves a variety of vegetables with peanut sauce with a sparkling spiciness.

The vegetables used to make karedok are quite diverse, such as cucumber, bean sprouts, beans, small green eggplants, cabbage, basil, and some other vegetables that can be added to the taste of the maker.

There is a difference between gado-gado and karedok. If gado-gado using vegetables that have been boiled, karedok use vegetables that are still raw.

In Sunda, people also call karedok with the name lotek atah which means raw lotek.
