Escargot is a traditional french plate, and known to be seen as exotic.
But in short, does it taste good?
Yes!
Of course the delicious butter that goes with it is fantastic, and the good spices help, but the fish as a whole is delicious.
Even though the escargot itself has nothing too special about it, the combination with butter and spices makes it uniquely good.
A nice slice of bread goes pretty well with what's left inside the shell after eating the meat.

In my country (Lleida - catalonia), is very usually eat escargots (we say cargols). Exist a popular feast in Lleida, 'aplec del cargol', three days about to snail.
