Melon Conquering VanCity restaurants #1: Yummy waffles

Nero Belgian Waffle Bar is the place where you should activate your second stomach for desert! It will accommodate all your waffle preferences in terms of texture as well as its wide range of toppings. You can choose between a light and crispy or soft and sweet waffle. We ordered the Fruity soft and sweet waffle and the Mocha light and crispy waffle. We were fortunate enough to be close to the bar where the ladies brought to life our waffles while paying very close attention to details when platting the waffle.

The fruity waffle came with slices of kiwi, banana, raspberry, blueberry, blackberry and strawberry, dusted with icing sugar. Since we ordered the soft and sweet waffle, it had a good balance of chewiness and was not too sweet. It was also accompanied with a side of whipped cream.

As for the Mocha waffle, it consisted of a scope of ice cream enveloped in chocolate and topped off with a raspberry. There were also two swirls of chocolate whipped cream drizzled with chocolate. This may sound very sweet but on the contrary, it was very light and not filling.

This waffle bar has a contemporary interior style and you may choose to be seated inside or out. The hospitality of the young and dynamic staff was courteous. Overall, the ambiance was very welcoming! I will definitely be back to try a savory waffle next time.
