My first taste of traditional Georgian food.

Hi Steemians,

Some months back, I had the opportunity to visit the city of Tbilisi in Georgia for a few days as part of a work trip.

Georgia is a country which is nestled between Europe and Asia and therefore you can notice a mixture of cultural influences in this region.

I had the opportunity to hang out with some locals who took me to an amazing traditional Georgian restaurant where I first tasted Kachapuri. I was blown away!

Kachapuri (as shown in the picture below) is a hollow boat of soft buttery bread filled deep with melted Sulguni cheese with a runny egg on top. This dish is served hot, and the best way to eat it is to grab a fork and mix the lazy runny eggs into the molten cheese mixture. Heavenly....
