This dish is often eaten at religious festivals, such as Mouled or Achoura, and family celebrations such as baptisms, engagements or weddings.

This dish is usually accompanied by a white sauce flavored with cinnamon. The main ingredients of the rechta are noodles, meat, chicken, chickpeas, turnip and zucchini.
