Actually, chocolate is simply a mixture of cocoa mass, fat and lots of sugar. One should therefore think that the delicate temptation is anything but healthy. However, a study conducted by Australian and US scientists suggests that chocolate can even make sense. The fact that the secondary crops, which are mainly contained in chocolates with a high content of cocoa, are positive for the heart health, we knew - but chocolate, which makes smart? That was new to us.
Study with 968 participants between the ages of 29 and 98
For the study, 968 persons were selected between 23 and 98 years. All participants in the study completed an intelligence test before the start and completed questionnaires on the dietary habits. The participants also had to state how often they consume chocolate. The surprising fact is that women generally have more chocolate than men. Surprisingly, however, the researchers found that the schoki lovers through the bank could have better memory abilities and a higher abstraction ability. However, the study also has its weaknesses.
No final proof
Whether chocolate makes smarter or just more wise people like to grab a piece of chocolate, the study can not show definitively. A causal link between the chocolate consumption and the intelligence must therefore not necessarily exist. Nevertheless, a good chunk of chocolate, especially dark chocolate, does the soul well and is also good for the heart thanks to the contained flavanoids.
