I’ve been making superfood smoothies every morning for the past 20 years.
Whilst the ingredients change quite often, and have evolved over time, there is still a core set of ingredients that I’ll always use.
For example, bananas are always a vital part of the smoothie, unless they aren’t ripe or I’ve run out of them.
So first thing in the morning, after I've drunken at least 800ml of filtered, mineralised water with fresh squeeze of lemon (or apple cider vinegar), I’ll go out into my garden and handpick the greens from my organic veggie patches to include in the smoothie.
There’s nothing quite like the immediate raw energy of organic food that has been freshly picked and consumed within minutes.
Greens in a smoothie you ask?
Yes, it’s like getting a salad in first thing in the morning, with all of the important nutrients that come with lush green leaves, but in a yummy sweet treat drink.
Something to note is that when I put the leaves of hardier greens, such as kale, into a smoothie, I will always take the stem out first.
Why?
I find the stem far too strong in its raw form. It really overpowers the flavours of the smoothie.
(Those people that have sensitivities (like hyperthyroidism etc) to cruciferous plants (kale, broccoli, cabbage, etc) should either avoid them altogether or make sure that they are steamed first.)
I will do another post on how to make almond milk (or mylk) so that it’s yummy, nutritious and doesn’t curdle when used in things like tea. So keep your eye out for that post (by following me).
DIRECTIONS
Okay, so I start with putting in the harder ingredients first so that the blade get those processed better during the mix.
Chuck everything in the blender and friggin blend it!
I mean this shit isn’t rocket science guys. Haha.
Make it look pretty.
Then drink that delicious drink that down.
Take a pic of it.
Post it up on all your social media just to show off how healthy you are. Lol!
Enjoy.

I so wish I could grow fruit in my backyard like that, all we have is raspberries. It is not too often that people can grow apples here. Some have, but it's colder here. The summer months are shorter. There are blueberries but we have to venture out to look for the good ones that aren't grown alongside the roads and take in all that exhaust and garbage. We also go to a garden place and pick our own strawberries. Perhaps this year I will keep the seeds and grow them myself. Hoping I can be successful. That's about it for fruits here. The rest is store bought.
Looking forward to your almond milk recipe ^_^

OOOH. I love blueberries! Essential phytonutrients in berries. If your area is good for growing berries, definitely do it.
Another vote for the almond milk recipe.
Thanks so much @foxyspirit!

no problem.
on the side note, I haven't forgotten about the business side of things. Everything got super busy and I am playing catch up. Tonight or tomorrow it the plan to do up a post about it all. I got my poster boards to get going on it. Today I have lots of baking to do, so what gets done will determine if I can do my post about it. Cheers!

Ahhh. Yes, I end up freezing a bunch of mango when it’s season here so that I have some for winter months. But fresh is always better for consumption.
Was totally delicious @amymya!

It’s such a vital part of any health regime, right?
Bummer about the nuts, but I guess you’ve got alternatives for essential fatty acids, omega oils and protein.
Thanks for dropping by @bonniepiesse

Nom nom. We eat lots of papaya in my native islands. We have also one of the best banana varieties in the world. I miss it. I have thyroid problems so no raw kale for me. Looks yummy.

of course it looks amazing. you and i speak the same lingo. as a heads up either give .03 or nothing. its a waste as there is no payout. they call it dust. :)

Thanks again.
Really? Ok, so even 2 cents is considered dust? I thought it was anything under 1 cent.
Gosh! Well, that’s good to know, but I often upvote from my phone where it only shows a percentage, not the $ amount. I have zilch idea which percentage equals $0.03+ and it seems to change due to VP percentage and power.
Gah! Still so many things to learn.

Far out! That's suckful, because the friends of mine that are still plankton's have to upvote, but their upvote is all dust... Not only that, but being on the curation trails for Helpie, Open Mic and 1 other, is likely to be under 2 cents, so you're saying that is just a waste of VP (except, maybe if it adds up past 3 cents with other people's upvotes, I guess)? Gah! I thought I was helping people. Dang!
