It can be a bit hard to find really great food in Indonesia among the endless plain fried chicken, fake meat balls, and somewhat tasty but nutritiously deficient nasi goreng. So these are not just random foods that I found in Indonesia, but I believe they are actually some of the best food available here.
Left: Tongseng, which was also in part one, but then I found this picture. This one is the best tongseng I've had in Jakarta and in Indonesia.
Right: Babi panggang (grilled pork), and arsik (fish with special Bataknese flavors), served with a pork blood based sauce at Lapo Siagian in Bandung.
Left: Soto Bogor at Pasar Manggis in Jakarta. Main ingredients are potato, chicken, tomato, coconut milk, and spices.
Right: Gurame bakar, grilled fish. This is one of the best grilled fish you can get in Indonesia. It's fried first, then put on the grill and basted on both sides with two different sauces before serving.
Left: Beef gepuk, corn fritters, fried potato ball, and red rice at Bumbu Desa.
Right: Bubur ayam cianjur spesial near Pasar Manggis in Jakarta. Rice porridge with cheese, fried shallots, chicken, crackers, sweet soy sauce, sambal, and chicken liver.
Left: Grilled chicken + grilled tempeh. Most tempeh in Indonesia is simply fried and most people don't realize you can also grill it and it tastes great when you do. This is at a small place near Plaza Indonesia in Jakarta.
Right: Breaded and fried chicken topped with chopped green chilis at Legoh in Bandung.
