This recipe yields two 8" round cakes / Esta receta es para 2 moldes redonos de 20cm
6 Large egg yolks / 6 yemas de huevo
1 C. Milk / 1 tz. Leche entera
2 tsp vanilla extract / 2 cdtas. extracto de vainilla
3 C. cake flour / 3 tz. harina para pastel
1 1/2 C. sugar / 1 1/2 tz. de azucar blanca
1 1/2 tbsp baking powder / 1 1/2 cda. polvo para hornear
3/4 tsp salt / 3/4 cdta. de sal
12 tbsp unsalted butter / 12 cdas. de mantequilla sin sal
(room temperature) / (a temperatura ambiente)
Preheat oven to 350 degree F. / Pre-calienta el horno a 180 grados C.
In the bowl of a stand mixer, add sugar and room temperature butter
using the paddle attachment, cream the butter and sugar until well combined and butter is lighter in color.
Usando una batidora electrica y el accesorio de pala, mezcla el azucar y la mantequilla hasta que este bien combinado y cambie a color mas claro.
Add the egg yolks in batches, about 3 yolks at a time until well combined.
Agrega las yemas de huevo 3 a la vez hasta que esten bien mezcladas.
Next, with the mixer stopped, add all the dry ingredients, turn the mixer on to low and slowly pour in the milk and vanilla until all the lumps are gone.
Enseguida, con la batidora apagada, agrega los ingredientes secos (harina, sal y polvo para hornear) sobre la mezcla y enciendela de nuevo ahora a velocidad baja mientras le viertes la leche y vanilla hasta que quede sin grumos.
Portion the batter evenly between two greased 8" pans ( I made extra batter for two more cakes) .
Reparte la masa igual entre los 2 moldes de pastel (yo hice receta doble porque necesitaba 2 pasteles mas).
Bake for 25 - 35 minutes (depending on your oven) until batter has set and a toothpick comes out clean if you poke the center.
Let cool before working with it!
Hornea entre 25 y 35 minutos (dependiendo de tu horno) hasta que el centro este firme y al insertar un palillo en el centro salga limpio.
Deja enfriar antes de desmoldar!
