Make Your Own Pizza Bar

In my opinions, the best kinds of parties involve pizza. We're not big football fans, so instead of watching the big game and grubbing out over nachos, we invited a few other non-football crazed friends over and had a pizza making party in place of a Super Bowl party.

If you are inclined to do the same, we found that making several custom pizzas to please a crowd was much less expensive than purchasing a variety of pizzas. And the results were awesome, better than any ordered pizza because everyone could make them exactly how they wanted.

For our Pizza Bar, we made one dough ball for every two people, and you can get my recipe for easy pizza dough here.
The basics you need for your pizza bar are:

• dough
• marinara
• mozzarella

From there, the toppings we include in our pizza bars are:

• mushrooms
• chopped bell pepper
• sliced tomato
• minced garlic
• chopped green chile
• shredded cheddar cheese
• pineapple chunks (sorry! I know it's controversial)
• chopped spinach
• crumbled feta
• diced onion
• basil leaves
• sun dried tomatoes

Most of these ingredients we typically always have on hand, which makes our Pizza Bar a fairly cost effective party endeavor.

And my tip for making your dough taste exceptional is to brush it with salted olive oil before baking it. With my dough recipe, we bake our pizzas at 450℉ for about 15-18 minutes.
