The recipe for a pea beer snack came during the connection with the World Cup football championships. I do not remember in which book I came across the mention of such used peas. The text introduces the story that in ancient times, innkeepers in Poland gave "peanuts" from peas to beer. Salted peas increased thirst and increased sales of liquors. The recipe is easy to prepare and can be done in several ways. By the way, he decided to carry out the test and in addition to pea, I used chickpeas with a satisfactory result.
Composition:
Yellow or green paddy peas
you can use chickpeas,
the frying oil works well with rice,
favorite spices.
We start with the soaking of grains. It's best to use whole peas in scales, peeled peas are also good, but not so tasty. After overnight steeping, drain the seeds and leave them to dry in a warm place. We can put out to the sun or put in a warm oven.
The first method of preparation consists in adding grains to a heated pan with oil. We cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. After some time, the grains should start to harden, and when mixing, make the sound of a "rattle". You can sometimes try if they are fit to eat. So they are not raw or too hard. After about 10 minutes, strain on a sieve of oil and we can still drain on paper. Chilled "peanuts" so sprinkled with salt, peppers, etc.
In the second method, warm up the oven to 200 C hot air, add to the bowl dried beans, a little oil and spices. Spread out on baking paper and put in the oven. Until the grains change color to gold. We're waiting to cool down and give it to beer.
