An egg has three parts: the shell, the yolk and the egg white. However, among of the three, egg yolk has the most health benefit.
According to some sources, egg yolks contain rather larger quantities of vitamins to name a few: Vitamin B6, folate,B 12, A, D, E, and K. These large quantities of vitamins turned out not found on the egg whites.
Egg yolks is also a good source of minerals which are necessary in sustaining building blocks essential for boosting body functions like for example balancing fluids and electrolytes in the body. The egg yolk comprises minerals which includes calcium, magnesium, iron, sodium and potassium. The egg whites and egg yolk may have both contain large quantity of minerals, the egg yolk has the most larger amounts.
Additionally, egg yolk also has health benefits for healthy eyesight. It contains Carotenoids that contributes to the yellow color of the yolk. Carotenoids decrease the risk of Macular degeneration and Cataracts. They play an important role as anti-oxidants that protect the eye from free radicalswhich may be detrimental to the different parts of retina. Egg yolks also contributes in regulating protein pathways that are involved in cell signaling that aids in the cellular processes in the body such as producing hormones.
Not all people may be fond of consuming egg yolks but their benefits often outweigh for the health.
