Sorry Anthony Bourdain!

Hey guys :) There is a few famous Banh Mi sandwich restaurant in Hoi An, among them I visited the most popular two places which are Banh Mi Phoung, and Banh Mi Queen. I visited these two places almost every day to get lunch for about a month!! I tried most of things on menu and I want to compare these two places ;)

Banh Mi Phoung is the most famous place in Hoi An. The famous author of kitchen confidential and food critic Anthony Bourdain visited Banh Mi Phoung and he said that they have the best sandwiches in the world. Lots of tourists visiting here to taste the same sandwich that Anthony Bourdain had. They even add Anthony Bourdain's picture on the menu ;)

You can have a meal in here and also you can take out. Usually, there is a long line up for taking out, so I recommend you to have in there.

There are two floors and it's quite a small restaurant.

Banh Mi Phoung had a variety of Vietnamese food besides Banh Mi sandwich. I couldn't try a lot of them, but I tried Cao Lau which is Hoi An specialty noodle dish and it was really good.

I can't believe that each sandwich only cost about $1!! And the size of the sandwich is soooo big!! I loved the bread it was really soft and tasty. Umm to me, the sandwich itself it was really plain taste. I'm not a big fan of simple sandwiches so I got disappointed a little bit :( But if you're a fan of the plain taste of sandwiches I'm sure you're gonna like it!!

It's a super busy restaurant so everything is really rush and you're not gonna get good service as well but their sandwich quality is pretty high and it's very affordable price :)

Let's move to Banh Mi queen ;)

They always keep the baguette in the oven. I think it makes the bread softer?

There are only 5 sandwich menus in Banh Mi Queen which is opposite with Phoung. The 5 menu is mix, chicken, eggs, veggies, pork & ham :) I tried every single menu and I absolutely loved all of them!!

From the first bite, you'll say OMG!!! The bread is soooo soft and very thin which makes people easy to eat a baguette. I don't know what's the secret of their sandwich but it is so flavorful and perfect amount of saltiness and sweetness!! They ask you if you'd like to add chili sauce before they serve, and the chili sauce is just so perfect.

My favorite is the egg Banh Mi and it's perfect for late breakfast or lunch ;) Banh Mi Queen is also really busy place but still less busy than Phoung and I think they have a better service :)

So... sorry Anthony Bourdain, I think Banh Mi Queen has the best Vietnamese sandwiches in the world :)
