In India, especially in West Bengal, people love sweets (a.k.a desserts) but we don't have it like desserts, because they are lovely, tastes awesome and are filled with emotion that holds a large place in every Bengali's heart. We have sweets almost any time we crave for. In Kolkata and nearby there are more than 10,000 sweet shops, small, big and everything in between.
In Bengal we sweetly call sweets as Mishti, and there are variety of mishtis like Rossogolla, Sondesh, Payesh, Mishti doi, Lyangcha, Pantua. I know names are not enough so here are some pics

I once had fresh Nolen gurer rosogolla, warm and soft like butter! and that changed my life. I'll never be able eat any other sweet after that. :)
