It's no secret that Rhiannon and I have a deep love for food and cooking it. Aside from the fact that food can be amazingly wonderful and life sustaining, it also draws people together. We both come from large Irish-Mexican households and many fond memories of family get-togethers for either smoke bbq, carne asada, tamale making or canning often centered around a large kitchen table or outdoor cooking area where family and friends who hadn't seen each other for long stretches would now happily chirp with one another catching up on life, love and well just generally stuffing our collective faces. This is one of the things that drive us both to want to grow our own fruits and veggies and raise our own meat. Family (be it blood or chosen) is the most important thing one can have. A man or a woman with a family is a rich one indeed.
I made a habit for a good while posting photos of our meals on other social media sites and every time I did, I was asked about the possibility of me catering food for friends or jokingly threatened to be throttled for posting such deliciousness when they couldn't enjoy in the feast. Personally those are some of the best compliments I could receive. Hahaha!
With that in mind we decided to start sharing some of our pics with all of you folks in the hopes to get you excited about food, to want to learn how to prepare it and inspire you to bring folks together. We will be doing walk throughs on many of these recipes via video in the very near future. While we have both had some experience working in a few kitchens, neither one of us are professionals by any means. We learned from family members, recipes and just bumbling along the way. If we can do it, you can too!
