Dumpster diving

The practice of foraging in garbage that has been put out on the street in dumpsters, garbage cans, etc., for discarded items that may still be valuable, useful, or fixable.

Meet-up at the "Solidary Fridge" Initative


The meet-up was a real blast! A crap load of food was handed out and we cooked some tasty food for everyone to eat as well. I had a real nice time and we made some plans how we could make a big difference in 2018 to minimize the food waste here in Gothenburg, Sweden!

Thursdays Weekly Meet-ups:

Every week on Thursdays we meet up in the middle of the city to share the abundance of food. It's a great way to meet and support each other. We do it at the same time as the decentralized farmers market that I've initiated which adds more value for everyone!

        @reko -suave, thanks for mentioning that more food is wasted during the holidays. That's a nice gem of information which many people probably haven't thought of (including myself), just assuming that the amount of CHARITY food which is given away counterbalances the waste. But then again, how much of the charity food is wasted, right? I mean, waste it waste in the grand scheme of things.
