The arepa is a corn-based dish, is our traditional "sandwich", is a flat cake of cornmeal which is then grilled (but could be baked or fried), they are quick to make, healthy and can be eaten at any time of the day, the Arepa can be filled with anything, cheese, meat, chicken, pork, avocado, anything! mixed or simple (my favorite filling is fried pork, avocado and Parmesan but the usual Arepa is fill with butter and fresh cheese)

The recipe is very simple, (We Venezuelans are all around the world so I am sure you can find Venezuelan harina P.A.N, in a special store, i tried once some Italian maize flour, it was very similar) so, Mix the maize flour, salt, and water, knead the flour and water with your hands until the mixture is thoroughly blended and there are no grainy lump, then shape it into balls and after it use your palms to flatten and "tataaaan" gilled them until golden brown
and there u go, a very quick delicious meal
