A Protein Pancake Outside of the Box

When most people think of pancakes they think of sugary fatty goodness (a.k.a. Bad Carbs) but when you build your pancake outside of the box you can think healthy.

Eating lean at night can really help you stay trim. Keep your carbs as low as possible at night especially if you aren't going to be super active. Also, consume slow burning protein (a.k.a. casein protein like cheese) to ensure that your body has something to gnaw on through the night.

So your typical day might look like this:

  1. Front load your carbs at the beginning of your day (EX: 50-50% of your total carbs on your first meal)
  2. Eat to order through the rest of the day (EX: if you're super active stock up, plan your carbs to meet your needs)
  3. At days end taper off of the carbs (EX: go easy on the carbs here especially right before bed)

This type of carb front loading has been used by many bodybuilders and competitors to help build their physiques to their liking.
